This policy explains how Motif collects, uses, and protects information when you use the Motif website, checkout, license activation service, installer, and desktop application.

Information We Collect

Motif may collect contact and checkout information provided through Stripe, license activation details, device identifiers, device names, app version, entitlement status, support messages, and basic request metadata needed to operate the website and license service.

The desktop app may store your Motif license key, your user-provided Groq API key, runtime configuration, generated JSON state, plugin scan output, bridge IPC files, and logs under per-user application data folders such as %APPDATA%\AIBridge or other documented Motif runtime folders.

DAW Integration Files

When you select DAW integrations, Motif may install, update, repair, or remove local bridge files in supported DAW user folders. For Studio One and Fender Studio Pro, Motif may update key scheme files to bind the AIBridge Poll command to Ctrl+Shift+W and may create a backup before changing an existing key scheme file.

How We Use Information

We use information to process checkout, activate licenses, enforce device limits, provide support, prevent abuse, improve reliability, and operate Motif features requested by the user.

Third-Party Services

Payments are processed by Stripe. Motif does not store full payment card numbers. AI features use a user-provided Groq API key unless a separate hosted AI service is offered later. When AI features are used, prompts, DAW state summaries, plugin names, parameter names, arrangement metadata, and audio-derived analysis text may be sent to the configured AI provider.

Security

Motif uses HTTPS, server-side license checks, short-lived entitlement tokens, device limits, and access controls to protect paid features and user data. No internet-connected system can be guaranteed perfectly secure, but we use reasonable safeguards for the nature of the service.

User Control

You can uninstall Motif from Windows Apps and Features. You can rotate or remove your local Motif license key or Groq API key, though licensed and AI features may stop working until valid credentials are restored.
